Life is a Party

{Sweater: LOFT similar} {Shoes: Old Navy} {Tee: Old Navy (not online) Love}
{Necklace: Groopdealz} {Sunnies: Aldo} {Lip Color: Maybelline {Fuchsia Flash)

Old Navy--you have done it again. I have fallen in love with another graphic tee. I matched with this over-sized sweater from LOFT (on clearance for $14--can I get an AMEN!) and braved the cold for these pictures. PS. I listed the color of this lipstick because I LOVE this line by Maybelline, especially the Fuchsia Flash :)

I thought this shirt was beyond appropriate for the day. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away this weekend--it is so sad and I will miss him everyday--but his life was one to be celebrated! He truly LOVED his family and took every opportunity he got to try new things. He was known for going to the casino, riding roller coasters, and traveling to Italy; all thing done well into his 80's. I can only hope that my Life is a Party as much as his was. Cheers to Pap! You are always in our hearts.

I want to live my life the fullest this year by really putting family and friends first and pursuing my blog 100%--it is truly my passion.

What are ways do you want to "make life a party" this year??

Happy Friday and thanks for stopping by,

It's all about the details

{Pants:  Old Navy} {Button-up: Old Navy} {Necklace: old Love}
{Watch: Michael Kors} {Booties: Old Navy} {Cardi: Limited (old) Similar
{Sunnies: Aldo}

So I love loud outfits-stacking jewelry upon jewelry, and bling upon bling! But sometimes its nice to be a little subtle and understated. Sometimes the outfit can look simple--but it's all in the details. That is totally the case with this little number. I love the neutral color combo--yet there are things that make it special.

This is one of my favorite cardi's from the Limited--the lace detail sets it apart.

The pants have a very subtle snakeskin pattern--hello so fun!!

I am totally wearing peacock feather for a necklace and the collar on the shirt has sparkly beads to make it pop!

I got to wear this to a friends surprise 30th Birthday--which was so awesome. It was a night filled with wine, Italian food, birthday cake, and some of my favorite people. When I was getting ready that night, I looked at my hubby and told him "I feel like I shop everyday but still have nothing to wear!". I swear it is times like that, times where I just throw things on in frustration, that some of my favorite looks come together. This outfit here was never meant to be--but it will so be worn again and again!

Does this happen to anyone else??

Have a most fabulous Tuesday and thanks for stopping by!

Coffee Date- Encouragement

Join me for a little chat this morning over coffee--or your drink of choice. It is Friday, so that may be wine!

{Via}
I have to tell you all--it has been a LONG week! My dog Geno is in the animal hospital (but expected to make a full recovery!), my grandfather isn't doing well, my dad backed into my car, and my nerves are just plain shot.

But this post is not a sob story or a pity party! This is about the kindness of others, and how people have truly inspired me, and taught me lessons that I want to put into practice going forward.

I tend to be an anxious person--OK that is probably an understatement--and when I am anxious, I am focused all on myself, all the time. I worry about myself, my needs, my problems, my life  (none of which are never all that bad!). What I have come to realize these past couple months though is that everyone has problems, day to day, things on their mind and worries of their own. However, some people still stop what their doing, take time out of their busy day, and make me feel loved and special.

They simply send a text to see how I am doing. They send a "Get Well" card. They send a gift card for doing them a small favor. On Christmas they bake cookies for me and on my birthday they get me a cake. Its things like this that people DON'T have to do, but choose too, that can make a person feel so loved.

I want to be better at this. I want to look outside of my own world and look for ways to be an encouragement. To show people the love of God through me. This world can be a dark place, but there is so much light and goodness through Jesus, and people truly can see that through your actions.
1 Peter 4:8-10
"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. Show hospitality to one another without grumbling. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God's varied grace"
So I am challenging myself--and you as well--to find ways this month to be an encouragement to others. I want us to show the people around us their value and worth. That they are special and wanted. I promise it will make their day, and that you and I will also reap the benefits of using our God given gift of encouragement in the way He intended it. We need to build each other up everyday and I think we will see a world of difference in our own lives and well as the lives of the ones we love.

So for all my friends and family out there who, over the years, have made my days better, my long nights shorter, and my life a brighter sunny place--I want to THANK YOU--from the bottom of my heart. Actions, big and small, have not gone unnoticed and have always made a world of difference in my life!
This is what I look like drinking coffee at 8 a.m.--I already need a nap!
Hope this gives you all some food for thought on this Friday--and have a FABULOUS weekend :)

A Little Burberry Inspired Number

{Sweater: NY&Co.} {Leather Leggings: Limited} {Boots: Charlotte Russe Similar}
{Watch&Crystal Bracelet: Limited} {Scarf: Dillard's}

Can we start off talking about this scarf?! I have been having MAJOR scarf envy of all you lovely ladies that got to pick up a plaid blanket scarf from Zara. So when this little number caught my eye and her price was just right--I knew she was coming to live in my closet! And she is just as fabulous as I imagined--all plaid, soft, and comfy--the perfect combo.

Then NY&Co had this amazing asymmetrical sweater--that I may buy in every color. It is long enough to wear with leggings and the cut give it a special touch.

Then when I thought it couldn't get any better--the stars aligned and I found these leather leggings at the Limited--on clearance. They are super high quality and fit like a glove.

Needless to say I have already worn this outfit about 3 times--and all my friends better expect to see it many more times in the future :)

I also just want to thank you all for your amazingly kind words for my pug Geno--who has a sprained back. After going back to the vet yesterday--irritated stomach--he is slowly getting better again!

Thank you for stopping by!

Bows, Bows, Bows!

 {Jeans: American Eagle} {Purse: Kate Landry} {Shirt: old super similar}
{Cardi: Target} {Watch: Limited} {Bow Necklace: Groopdealz}

Did you all have a good Valentine's Day?! I had a great day with a beautiful card and present from the hubs--but my poor little pug sprained his back Thursday night! So, we spent most of Friday night making sure he was OK--aka me being a totally spazzy worry-wart!

After a lot of rest this week Geno (the pug) is finally eating and drinking again--making me so happy!
Look at this cutie pie-
I love this little man :)

Even though I know Geno totally steals the show in this blog post--I LOVE the cardi's Target has had lately! This is one of my very favs--the bow details on it are adorable! It was just a coincidence that I happened to have a bow necklace already--so that was a no-brainer :) I love it when the fashion genies come together to make the perfect look with things you already have in your closet--its magic!

Happy Monday & Have an Amazing Day

Casual Valentines Day

{Dress: old Dressier Option} {Boots: Hunter} {Bracelet: Limited (not online but on sale in store!)}
{Watch: Fossil} {Earrings: Francesca's Similar} {Scarf: a gift Identical}

Happy Valentine's Day Lovebugs!

I am one of those crazy's that LOVES love! I am always hounding my hubby to make romantic gestures or write me love notes--he loves it--despite what he says ;) However, we are always super laid back on Vday--mainly because we are too lazy to go fight the crowds at the restaurants. In fact, I actually haven't even got the hubs a card yet--should probably get on that before I get off work ha. So no fancy dress for going out, I like to keep it causally cute and comfy.

I got these Hunter boots a few weeks ago, and if you follow me on Instagram, you know how flippin' excited I was! I have been wanting a pair FOREVER--but have never wanted to spend the money. I finally bit the bullet (and they were actually discounted) and got the pink pair. They literally HAD to be pulled out for Vday--I mean they are pink and perfect and snow proof. What more could a girl ask for?!

I kept it simple by throwing on a black tunic and chevron scarf and its the perfect outfit to stay home and cook dinner with the guy who still makes me giddy--even when he is driving me crazy (you married ladies all know what I am talking about ha). So I hope you all have a great Valentine's Day and get to spend it with the ones you love <3

Coat with the Fur

{Skirt: Limited LOVE} {Sweater: LOFT Sale} {Necklace: Express}
{Earrings: Body Central Similar} {Coat: 2B Great Option}

I won't lie--these are not my favorite photos--but there is just sooo much snow you guys. Like I really want to just tell the snow to shove it where the sun don't shine--don't let the door hit you on the way out! Blah :)

The only upside to this--I get to wear this coat which is trimmed in faux fur! This was actually a late season purchase last year that I got for a steal, but didn't get much use out of. This year though it has def. been a staple in my wardrobe! I wore this outfit to work and  although the leather might be a little scandalous in the banking world-I like to push the fashion envelope (such a rebel i know ha).

I also am excited to share a really cool website with you all! It is called The Tickled Pink Boutique. They offer cute clothing at amazing prices. They have tons of tunics to wear with leggings (one of my favorite looks) and they also have THE cutest dresses. Make sure you check them out by clicking HERE and if you use the code fashionbling you will get 10% off your ENTIRE order!

Mixing Patterns- Camo & Stripes

{Leggings: F21} {Shoes: Express Similar} {Watch: Limited (not online) LOVE}
{Bracelet: Express Leopard Version} {Sweater: old Save} {Vest: JCP Cute}

I LOVE laid back lazy weekends--and these days they have been few and far between. This weekend though was heaven--no real plans--filled with movies, blogging, puppies, and time with my hubs. I even put my lackluster cooking skills to work and baked a funfetti gooey bar cake thing--ha and it was delicious! (I know--I am as shocked as you are ha)

This outfit is perfect for weekends like this! I love that mixing patterns of the camo and stripes gives a really funky look--but it was totally comfy and perfect for lounging while eating pizza and watching Bad Grandpa. Also, I am slightly obsessed with these red flats from Express--the bows on them make it perfection!

What are your thoughts on mixing patterns? LOVE? or too far out?

My mother may or may not have asked me if I got dressed in the dark--in the words of Mr. Will Smith--parents just don't understand :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!
