Pearls, Curls, and Birthday Girls

{Dress: SheInside} {Necklace:NY&Co. Identical Steal!} {Bracelets: WetSeal Need}

If you know me, you know I LOVE birthdays. In fact, for my birthday, I make it a birthday week (my hubby just loves this hehe). I blame it on my dad, he always made a huge deal out of birthday and made sure we felt like the most special person in the world on that day. My Mom and Dad always threw my sister and I the best parties--mine usually revolved around swimming because I am an August baby. I once even convinced my dad to buy me a camera for my Half Birthday in February--he is the best :)

I also love celebrating other peoples birthday's as well. It is a great excuse to get all our friends together and have a night out or an amazing dinner. Two of my very great friends have theirs back to back--March 31st and April 1st. So we got to dress up and go out this weekend--it was filled with a few drinks, great food, many laughs,and fabulous friends!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAREBEAR AND ASHLEY!!

I wore this really fun dress that has a structured skirt from SheInside (one of my favorite online shops!) and just paired it with some statement bracelets and boots for a simple (warm) look. The only thing I warn about this dress if you decided to purchase--it's a lot shorter than I expected--so beware :) I wore it with leggings!

I can't believe I am saying this again already--where do the weekends go, but have a fabulous Monday!

Vegas Baby--Anything Goes!

Hey Y'all! I am so happy to be back at this thing called blogging! I missed it terribly, but it was good to take a week off AND I had an amazing time in Vegas!!

We had the most beautiful weather--I was in heaven. I shopped til I dropped, gambled, ate, saw shows, and had a truly one of a kind experience with a ton of my best friends :) I loved that anything goes when it comes to fashion in Vegas. I even wore acid wash shorts and a crop top one day (Sorry mom!).

I am excited to show you all some pics from the trip!

We weren't excited at all to get there or anything...ha!

Spa Day with the girls included hot tubs, massages, facials, and body wraps--totally fabulous!

Ate so much good food--me and the gym have lots of dates next week :)

Gotta have a typical hotel selfie with your bestie!

Some of us went and saw Zarkana--Cirque du Soleil is just mind-boggling and beautiful!

O and typical outfit picture--felt like a total hippie with this headband from Wet Seal!

Last dinner with the hubs <3

Hubs and Steve--representin' at the casino in a bow tie :)

In case you needed a daily dose of cuteness--my family took care of these two sweet-peas while I was gone! Thanks sissy!

What would you wear in Vegas where anything goes??

Getaway Essentials

To say I have a tendency to over pack when going on any sort of a trip is kind of putting it lightly. I have been known to take a whole suitcase, for one overnight, in a city an hour from my house. When I went to Florida for a 3 month stay--I took 6 suitcase and came home with 7. No, that is not a lie--and yes, it cost me an arm and a leg to do so ha!

So in the interest of being more frugal and saving myself the hassle of having to hear it from the hubby--when we go to Vegas I am trying to take mainly the essential (things I CANNOT live without). I will undoubtedly take a few things I am probably not going to need in a hundred years--and for sure pack about 4 outfits too many, but I am going to try and cut down where I can :)

I am going to share with you the 5 things I must have when I travel:

1. I am always chilly at night or in restaurants, so I always bring a coat that you can wear with everything--I go with a black leather jacket.

(c/o Kushyfoot}

2. Have you all hear of Kushyfoot Flats-To-Go?? They are nothing short of amazing. I am a huge fan of heels, but also a huge baby when my feet start to hurt. These little flats are so light and fold up to fit right in your purse. So when you have danced your tushy off, just take your heels off and walk home in these! This is a much more sanitary route than "college Tori" used to take--when I would walk barefoot--Yuck!!

3. A Cross-body bag for daytime (so nice for shopping!) and a Clutch for night. Does that count as two things?? Nah!

4. A Maxi Dress that you just throw on with some sandals for the day--and then transition to a night out with a good statement necklace and the clutch you brought!

5. And last, but not least, my Tablet! I am a huge reader of books and magazine--which are heavy and annoying to have to pack. This makes it easy to download the books I want before I go--and if there is WiFi I can do a healthy amount of Facebook creepin' on vaca :)

I guess I should probably stop blogging about packing, and actual get to it!

Mirror, Mirror

{Sunnies: F21} {Jeans: American Eagle} {Watch: Fossil Similar}
{Boots: Hunter} {Sweater: Express Identical} {Scarf: old WANT

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen my new mirrored sunnies. I am in love--they are from Forever 21 and have a much lower price tag than their Ray-Ban counterpart. I had to throw them on with some green to celebrate my hubby's favorite holiday--St. Patrick's Day!

We were pretty lame this year--didn't do much celebrating, not one green beer--BUT we do leave for Vegas on Saturday!! I am so excited to gamble, shop, drink, eat, see shows, and well, shop some more :) It will be our first trip going with a group of friends and I am beyond excited! I still have to pack--which I know I will be doing late into the night on Friday. And my feet--which haven't seen the light of day since about October--are in desperate need of a pedi. So this week will be full of preparation for the big trip.

I have been to Vegas twice--once on a girls trip, and once for my honeymoon! I still feel like there is so much to see and do there that I have missed. So I need your suggestions. What do I need to see and do? What shops do I need to hit? Are there any fabulous restaurants that are must-trys??

I know you all know how to have some fun--so please let me know your suggestions!

Red with a Side of Leopard

{Shirt: LOFT} {Jeans: American Eagle} {Shoes: Gianni Bini Almost Identical}
{Sunnies: Aldo Similar} {Purse: Jessica Simpson Similar}{Watch: Michael Kors}

Truly believe you can never go wrong with a classic pairing of the color red and the print of leopard!

Its Wednesday and honestly--I don't have much to say today! Its been a great week--the sun has been out, I got in a good run, and I won a raffle at a fundraiser. So no complaints here :)

If figured I would leave you all with one of my favorite movie quotes:

You have to do everything you can
You have to work your hardest
And if you stay Positive
Then you might just have a chance at a Silver Lining

Who can name the movies? Totally one of my very favorites!

Have a fabulous Wednesday and as always--thanks for stopping by!

How to Dress Up a Maxi Skirt

{Skirt: JcPenny Identical} {Cardi-Dress: Sheinside} {Booties: Old Navy}
{Earrings&Bracelet: Body Central (not online)} {Necklace: old WANT}

Good Morning Fashionistas!

Since I have complained more about this weather on here than I have talked about clothes--I feel obligated to celebrate some sunshine we have been having!! YAY!! Finally not freezing my a** off while taking pictures :) The birds were even chirping in the morning--this has got to be a good sign of the weather to come.

So now onto the fashion--if I haven't lost you already with all that exciting weather talk! I love a good black maxi skirt. There are literally a hundred ways to wear it. I tend to dress it down--wear it on days I want a little more comfort. However, it is totally acceptable to dress it up. So enter this ah-mazing Cardi-Dress from Sheinside. When I first saw it I was obsessed--so colorful and bright. It seriously goes perfectly over this maxi skirt and tank. It is super light weight and can transition the maxi between spring and summer.

And guess what? Still totally comfortable! Ahh--the joys of looking cute while avoiding wearing yoga pants daily.

What is your favorite way to wear your maxi??
Hope you all have a fabulous Monday

The moment I fell in love with J. Crew

{Pants: Limited (only olive version online)} {Cardi: Limited (old) Similar} {Blouse: J. Crew}
{Shoes: Express} {Sunnies: Groopdealz} {Necklace: NY&Co. Similar}

If you have read my blog for any amount of time--or even just looked at the pictures--you must already know that I LOVE the Limited. I mean it is seriously one of the best; best sales, best work clothes, best fit!

However, as of this week I have taken on a new love--not better--just new :)

J. Crew--where have you been all my life? I never shopped there, a. because I was cheap and it is not, and b. because we don't have a store close to my house. However, I am a sucker for a sale--so when they were having a big one a few weeks ago I ordered a couple items. I was thrilled to see that you can order blouses in TALL!! Ahh for someone who is 5'8" with a long torso--this is life changing! When layering, the shirt can actually hang out of the bottom of my sweater--shocking I know! The things I bought fit amazingly and the quality was better than expected. Needless to say, I will be looking for more sales and doing some shopping at the J. Crew Factory!

This outfit is classic--black and white with a pop of red. And, this is the blouse I bought from J. Crew--love the stripes of it mixed with the dotted printed pants from the Limited. It's an outfit that I feel never goes out of style.

Anyone else having a love affair with J. Crew??

I am so glad it's Friday you guys--Bring on the weekend!
