Worth The Investment

{Watch: c/o JORD Watches} {Pants: Target (old) Similar} {Shirt: b. lovely}
{Purse: Michael Kors} {Sunnies: F21} {Shoes: Charlotte Russe}

If you have been around my blog for a while, you then know I love a good bargain. It gets me all excited, its the thrill of the hunt, and waiting for the one special piece to hit rock bottom prices.

But, even I know that there are certain things that are totally worth the investment. One of those being a great watch!

When JORD Watches asked me to test out one of their pieces, I was thrilled. Not only is a watch a staple in my everyday wardrobe, but this brand is comprised of three things that I love.

1.Uniqueness- a wooden watch is something you don't see very often, the wood is gorgeous (they have tons to choose from, mine is maple) and the super lightweight feel of it makes it so easy to wear.

2.Quality- it really has held up well to my own roughness, I tend to be hard on jewelry. Not a scratch in sight after multiple uses.

3.Sustainability- an environmentally friendly AND trendy looking item--count me in!

You can also check out a bunch of different ways I have worn it over on my Instagram <----shameless plug :) But, I really have had this watch on repeat every since I received it!

Hope you all have a great Monday

Because I'm Happy and 28

{Necklace: c/o Happiness Boutique} {Pants: American Eagle Similar} {Shoes: old Identical $15!}
{Shirt: Old Navy} {Coffee Cup: Kate Spade}

I have to tell you all, life has been really good! Does that mean free of troubles--no, but when is that ever the case?!

I can truly say, that I am so happy with where I am at on my journey. I am LOVING my new job and feel a whole new sense of fulfillment in that area of my life!

I have been learning to let go of my perfectionist ways (a truly never ending struggle) and enjoy every moment, even when things don't go as planned.

I have tried to be better with saying no when needed, running life at a crazy pace isn't what it is cracked up to be! But, also saying yes to things I normally wouldn't try and expanding my sense of adventure.

Plus, today is my birthday, so what a better way to kick off 28!

I figured wearing this amazing statement necklace from Happiness Boutique was the perfect choice. I have been on the hunt for a bib necklace (that didn't cost an arm and a leg) for a while now, and I am officially obsessed with this one! It gets better too because they offer free shipping and a cool Rewards Program

I plan on shoving my face with a ton of cake today and spending time with my family after work! Hope you all have a fabulous day as well.

Monday Musings

{Dress: Express LOVE} {Vest: JCPenny Identical} {Watch: NY&Co. Splurge/Save}
{Sunnies: F21 Similar} {Clutch: Old Navy Obsessed

So I had a really relaxing weekend, got caught up on a ton of stuff--so one would totally assume I have plenty of brain cells left to write a profound blog post today. But, you would assume wrong ha!

So some of my random thoughts for the week will have to do.

1. How am I just now finding out the AH-mazingness of dry shampoo?! I won't lie, I hate washing my hair, but ever since getting it healthy again (had to say #byefelicia to my blonde days), it gets greasy pretty fast! Now, with my dry shampoo, I can be totally lazy again on washing my hair--loves it!

2. It is officially my birthday week--yes week lol despite what the hubby might say! I milk it for all it is worth, and its the big 2-8 this year, so that is like late twenties. I swear I don't know where the time went.

3. Why does fast food have to be bad for you?! I HATE packing my lunch and I don't really care for cooking dinner, so I am the queen of the drive thru. Why, o why can't it be good for me?! I really need to get my rear back in shape and feeling healthy, but that starts in the kitchen. Maybe next Monday, because we all know new habits can't start on any other day of the week!

4. Round Sunglasses--not a fan.

5. My new obsession is the Netflix series The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. And, already waiting for season 2 because it only took me like 2 days to binge watch the first! In the meantime, me and the hubs have started House of Cards, which so far is confusing, but I think I will like it!

6. I love red and camo so much (don't worry, I didn't forget about the fashion). It is a great combo. This vest had become a staple piece for me and I have worn it with many things, but I think paired with this dress is my favorite!

Happy Monday

Lofty Goals

{Dress: Loft Splurge/Save} {Watch: JC Penny} {Shoes: Old Navy sold out online Similar}
{Earrings: Old Navy Steal} {Sunnies: Ray-Bans}

It's no secret that I have a slight obsession with maxi dresses in the summer--but come on what girl doesn't?!

However, it can be super hard to find one that is work appropriate.

When I laid eyes on this one at Loft last year, I knew it was coming home with me. The thicker straps and loose fit make it perfect for an office environment. And, if your office is super conservative, a cardi or blazer could go right over it!

O, plus, pockets!! Enough said.

I haven't found one quite like it this year, so if you all know of any I might like--let me know :)

Happy Half-Way to Friday

I Don't Want to Miss a Thing

{Two Piece Suit: Hollister Splurge/Save} {Shoes: Jessica Simpson Obsessed} {Sunnies: Aldo Need}
{Earrings: c/o Heartland Charm use code "Tori20" for 20% off your order!}

I was not quite ready for the weekend to end, I don't know why I am always so surprised when Monday rolls around so quickly.

I got to go see Aerosmith in concert, and even though rock music isn't usually my thing, it was so stinkin' fun! I wore leather shorts, sang my heart out to the Armageddon song, and people-watched like crazy ha! And even at 67, Steven Tyler still gave a killer performance.

But, on to today's look, I have fallen in love with two-piece sets, this one was such a fun color and matched my Heartland Charm earrings perfectly! P.s. don't forget to to check out my last post and enter to win a piece of your own!! These sets are so great for bridal showers, brunching, or a girls night out!

Have a great Monday babes

Dream Chasers: Heartland Charm & a Giveaway!

I will be so real with you all--I have been such a slacker on my very favorite series I write on this blog. "Dream Chasers" is about people with small businesses who are chasing their passion--and that is so very close to my heart! I LOVE supporting them and helping share their creations with all of you.

So I couldn't be more thrilled to be bringing it back with a bang. This Dream Chaser is not only a local Ohio designer, but I can call her a friend. She truly is so talented and has had the courage to take this dream and pursue it head on.

But, I will let her tell you all about it down below.

P.S.  make sure you enter the Rafflecopter to win a one of her amazing pieces!

{Earrings: c/o Heartland Charm} {Shirt: Charlotte Russe Similar} {Shorts: Charlotte Russe LOVE}{Shoes: Charlotte Russe Steal} {Bracelet: Edith Marie Jewelry} {Sunnies: F21 Splurge}

1. Tell me about your business and why you choose to get into this field of work?

My business is something I've worked on since I was about 10 years old. I grew up with a mom who worked full time and made jewelry on the side. I'd sometimes sit at her jewelry table missing her while she was at work, making jewelry was a way of connecting to my mom while she was gone, it was a common bond for us.

After awhile of me making things with her supplies she would tell me how nice everything was and then she would take me to get supplies on my own. I grew up going to flea markets and finding vintage pieces I could refashion into original artwork. We would participate in craft shows and jewelry shows, and it kind of led me to where I am today. My business is Heartland Charm, I make one of a kind jewelry pieces, fashion tops, bridal party gifts, magnets, and bags.

2. Is this your full time job or do you have 9-5?

Currently this is my full time job, I quit my job about a month ago to follow my dream as making Heartland Charm my main focus.

3.What is the most rewarding part of owning your own business?

The most rewarding part of owning my business is the acknowledgment I get. I've never really had a career I felt proud of, I feel like Heartland Charm is my baby and I put my all into everything I make.. it's so nice hearing compliments about the items I have made and getting positive feedback from my buyers.

4. What are some challenges you have faced?

Ohhh there are so many challenges!! Being a creative person, you have your days where you aren't inspired or you force yourself to make something and it just won't come out right. It's also hard hearing no, trying to get into stores around town that are full, or may not be the right fit. There are days where I go to craft shows expecting to make back what I've put into them and making not nearly as much as I'd hoped. Days where you sell nothing and you start doubting yourself and spend the rest of your night on job listing sites. There are so many challenges but many more rewards.

5. What advice would you give someone looking to start their own business?

Prepare yourself! Do your research!! I wouldn't be where I am without the support of my mother and most importantly my husband, who talked me into quitting my job and following my dream. You have to want it.. you can't be afraid, you have to go after it. It's also not a bad idea to have options or back up plans.

6. What is your favorite item in your shop?

I have so many favorite items in my shop because everything I make is different. I love the charm necklaces 'cause they are full of charms I've found on many flea market treasure hunts. But I also love my double pistol shirts, they're my best seller.

Small Details

{Shirt: Nordstoms OBSESSED} {Pants: Loft Similar} {Sunnies: Aldo LOVE}
{Shoes: old Adorable} {Clutch: Old Navy Similar} {Bracelet: Express}
{Necklace: c/o Heartland Charm}

Hey all! Did you guys have a good weekend?

Mine was really nice, just busy--this girl needs some down time, but what else is new?!

I am so pumped though because we have two super exciting things going on on the blog this week.

First, I got to do a photo shoot with my friend Mary, so her pictures will featured. She is a hobby photographer and just learning, but holy moly, I was blown away by her skills, and it was SO much fun!

Two, I am featuring jewelry in those photos from a local shop, also on Etsy, called Heartland Charm. Come back Wednesday to hear a ton more about her shop and for a chance to win one of her pieces!

When we saw this barn and I was wearing this fun, rustic, boho chic outfit--I knew it would be the perfect backdrop. This is like an ideal summer outfit for me, laid-back, but still super girly--the lace and cut out details really made me fall in love!

Anyone else loving all the tiny details shirts are showing off are this year?!
