Tour Through Blogland

I was so excited when my fabulous blogger from Amber from Fashion, Floss, and Lip Gloss asked me to be apart of the Tour Through Blogland. You will get the chance to know a little more about me, and I get that chance to show off some of my favorite blogging beauties! Thanks so much Amber. Your kind heart and killer style is truly an inspiration. Make sure you check out her post HERE!

1) What am I working on?
  • Right now I am working on some fun giveaways coming up, a few blogger collaborations, and continuing to grow my series "Dream Chasers". After the holidays, my goal is also to start some sort of link up :) I always have a blast joining other and I think they are a great way to meet new bloggers!

2) How does my work differ from others in it's genre?
  • I love fashion, but I also love making women feel good in the skin they are in. I really want to have a blog that focuses on accepting your flaws as beautiful and knowing that our uniqueness is what sets us all apart from each other. My motto is "Perfection is Boring"!

3) Why do I write/create what I do?
  • I do it because it is my passion. It is not always easy to find them time while working a full time job, having a hubby, a social life, and puppies. But, in the end my love for fashion and people is what keeps me going and make it all worth it!

4) How does my writing/creating process work?
  • I am not much of a planner--I tend to fly by the seat of my pants. And honestly, that's when things turn out best for me! So I just go with my gut and try not to over-think things and post what I love.

 Hi there, Kylie here! I’m an accelerated second degree nursing student, who plans to go into pediatrics. My blog, Dress in Sparkles, is my outlet for all the other loves in my life, such as fashion, baking and just all around pretty things.

Hi, I'm Pamela! I'm a Florida girl (by transplant from the midwest-ish) with a love for clothes and accessories but with an everyday budget. My blog, Sequins and Sea Breezes, is focused on creating outfits that are fun and transitional without breaking the bank but I often will post about the shenanigans going on in my life as well! I graduated from UCF and am a huge football fan as well as a lover of wine, cheese and of course my adorable furbaby who will often make appearances on my blog!

Deanna is the girl behind the personal style blog, Because I’m Obsessed. She graduated in May from the University of Illinois at Springfield with a Bachelor’s degree in Communication. Though she didn’t want a Fashion degree, she still wanted to be involved in something having to do with fashion. After stumbling across a blog a few years ago, she figured starting her own blog would be the perfect creative outlet. Not only did this give her a break from her studies, it gave her the opportunity to share her fab finds with everyone else!

While she knows when to splurge on an item, her mother raised her to be a bargain shopper. Whether it be a fancy bar cart or a new pair of boots, Deanna loves the challenge of searching for something she just has to have, then getting the best deal possible. Her blog proves that even on a post college budget, those Pinterest inspired looks aren't out of reach!

Hope you all had fun getting a small tour of this blog and some fabulous others! Swing by and check them out :)

The Mad Plaider

{Shirt&Leggings: b. lovely/@shopblovely} {Boots: Old Navy this seasons version}
{Belt: old Splurge/Save} {Necklace: c/o Moose and Nigel}

I think a plaid shirt, leggings, and booties have officially become my fall uniform! And sorry, not sorry, I LOVE it :) There is something so cozy about plaid--and I love the fact that you can pattern mix it with just about everything!

There really are no rules--and although I kept it super simple with this look, you can totally mix two different colors of plaid in the same outfit. Or, I love leopard and plaid as well!! So if plaid has gotten boring to you, make sure you experiment with different ways to wear it.

What is your go to uniform this fall?!

PS!! J. Crew Look Alike Herringbone Vest is on sale at Groopdealz (I snagged one) Click HERE to get your own!

That's A Wrap

Did you all have a great weekend?! God decided to bless us with some sunshine in Ohio and I am so thankful for it! I loved every minute of this weekend; from having friends over for some chili, to church with my mom, and going to see The Best of Me (in which I cried like a baby, so good!). We are still in our house hunting search and it is quite a process, very different from last time when we did not have a home to sell as well. We found one we love, so if you all can say a small prayer for favor in this matter, I would so appreciate it :)

{Sweater: c/o The Shopping Bag} {Earrings: c/o The Shopping Bag} {Pants: Old LOVE}
{Booties: Target}{Bracelet: Edith Marie} {Purse: Buckle}

Now, onto fashion, I was so lucky to be given a chance to try out some clothing from The Shopping Bag. When they sent me this wrap sweater and fabulous earring, I was more than pleased! The prices are very reasonable and the quality is fantastic. But, what really sold me is the fit! It fit just how I expected and was so true to size and measurements (which I have found is not always true with online retailers!

They are kind enough to give all my reader a special 25% discount if you use the code GIRLYTHINGS! So get to shopping :)

Poncho's and Plaid

Two trends I can't get enough of this fall are Poncho's and Plaid. They are both so easy to wear and scream "Fall". My hubby will kill me if I buy another one of these pieces--so I made a wish list for you all to shop! That way, I can live vicariously through you :)

Which one is your favorite?!

Sultry Dress and Confident Twosday Link-Up

{Dress: Target} {Shoes: Jessica Simpson on sale!} {Clutch: old Similar}
{Earrings: Limited} {Sunnies: F21 Similar}

I was so excited when Laura from I do deClaire asked me to co-host the Confident Twosday Link-up with her! As someone who has struggled, and still fights feeling good in my skin--I think boosting our self-esteem and celebrating who we are each day is so important. I am going to be so super corny--but, confidence truly is the sexiest thing you can slip on each day!

So I am linking up something that makes me feel good--and that is a sultry dress that is flattering to my curves! I kept the accessories simply and really tried to make the dress the focal point. Throw in the fun leopard clutch and a killer pair of heels and I was out to door to dance the night away at a wedding!

What do you wear that makes you feel most confident?!

Target for the Win!

{Shirt: Target} {Sweater: Target} {Pants: NY&Co}
{Necklace: Edith Marie} {Sunnies: F21} {Shoes: Payless}

If you have read my blog for any amount of time you then you know I am no sports fan. However, I am originally from Pittsburgh--so I gotta root for my Steelers (especially when they play the stupid Browns). So this little huge rivalry went down this past weekend--while I was wearing this outfit.

Boom! Steelers got crushed and it was not pretty--so hey, at least Target was there for the win. Clothes can always make me feel better!

Target is on point this season with their fall fashion. I have particularly been loving their more work appropriate options. This tunic is so fabulous with a subtle, yet fun print and a longer length (it kinda bunched up in the pictures, but it is longer). And, of course, the boyfriend style cardi's had me at hello. #tallgirlprobz ha! I plan on buy a few more colors :)

Rose Gold and Leopard

{Sweater: F21} {Jeans: old on sale} {Shoes: Maurices}
{Necklace: BaubleBar} {Phone Case: J. Crew another leopard version}
{Sunnies: Aldo} {Watch: Michael Kors}

It felt so good to be back to blogging yesterday! I seriously missed you all while I was away :) I felt it was totally necessary to make my first outfit post one that included my favorite pattern--leopard! These shoes are so comfy AND they have bling on the sides, so we are pretty much a match made in heaven.

I have had a love/hate with all things rose gold. I have loved it on other people, but always had a hard time wearing it. Then when I got this rose gold watch, I seriously fell hard in love! I have been trying to find as many ways as possible to wear it. With this outfit, I wore it with a rose gold necklace, but you can actually wear it with gold or silver as well! Its versatility is so surprising--highly recommend trying this trend out :)

What are your thoughts on rose gold? Yay or nay?!

Upbeat Soles

Hallelujah it's Friday!! After two weeks of traveling with work and training--I am whooped. Luckily, I got to work with an amazing group of ladies and they really made it a fun time!

And speaking of amazing ladies (did you like that very corny segue way? sleep deprivation people ha!) Shannon from Upbeat Soles is wrapping up this guest post series with a look on her fall favorites! I seriously want ALL outfits listed below--she is so stinkin cute! It has been so fun becoming friends with her through blogging, and vicariously living in Florida through her gorgeous photos. Shannon is the Queen of boho chic and can rock a hat better than anyone I know :)

Hey there! It's Shannon of Upbeat Soles taking over Tori's lovely space for day! Tori and I have become great friends through the blogging world so I am super excited to be filling in for her during her busy week of training! Can't wait for you to come back girl!!!!

Yay! Fall is finally upon us and that means my favorite things, Fall fashion and trends! I honestly can't get enough of Fall trends and here are few of my favorites styled by yours truly! :)

The first one is absolutely huge this Fall, being the over the knee boot! I honestly can't get enough of this trend! You can dress them down with a flat boot, like I did here, or get super sexy with a heeled boot!

I wouldn't say leopard print is just for Fall per say, but I think it really comes out to play during Fall. Go bold with a sweater, coat, or even in a great printed pant!

Another big trend this Fall is florals! Florals were huge for Summer but they have shimmied their way into Fall, which I love! Go for a dark colored floral or a large print floral to really give it that Fall feel!

Now on to the most classic Fall trend, plaid! Plaid has been around for who knows how long and it definitely wont be going anywhere anytime soon! What I love about plaid is you can wear it any way imaginable, a top, a skirt, a bag, you name it, you can never go wrong!

The military trend has been huge the past few years whether it be a jacket or vest, it definitely gives that something extra to any outfit!

Another classic (and if you haven't noticed by now, my absolutely favorite) is leather! I love that you can go super subtle with leather for example, a leather pipping or sleeve, or you can go bold with an awesome leather pant!

Thanks again to Tori for having me and I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! <3

Shannon

OK seriously, those leather pants are KILLER!! Head over to Upbeat Soles and follow along with Shannon so you don't miss an outfit post :)

I will be back to the blogging world next week--crazy how much I missed it! I am so grateful for the wonderful ladies who guest posted for me--you all are amazing!

A Memory of Us

I am thrilled to have Darcy from A Memory of Us guest posting today. She is one of the first blogs I followed and I have been hooked ever since. She is such a sweetheart, is planning her wedding, and always knocks her OOTD's out of the park. She has given me blogging advice along the way that I will always be grateful for. And, I LOVE the fact she is always finding new boutiques and stores to shop at and share with her readers (although my bank account is not always so thankful ha!).

Hi everyone! It's Darcy from A Memory of Us. I am so excited to be guest posting for Tori today!

One thing I love about blogging, is discovering boutiques. One local boutique I recently found, is called Frankly Basic. (I wrote about them on Friday, too!) They have such a great selection of on trend pieces. When I walked into the store I was instantly drawn to this tartan sweater. Could there be any more perfect print for Fall!? Thrown on with some dark jeans and wedge booties and I had a casual look fit for Fall!

These booties are the Toms Wedge booties and they are so comfortable! I had been looking at them online for awhile, but when I was finally able to try them on I fell in love! To see some more picture from today's look be sure to visit my blog. Thank you Tori for letting me take over your space on the internet today!

I would love it if you would follow me on GFC or Bloglovin'!

Darcy

And now she introduced another boutique I can't wait to check out--this look is SO perfect for fall! Make sure you head over to her blog and follow along :)
