Blogger Babes

I am so excited that I had two of my favorite blogger babes ask me to do a guest post for them (while they are living it up on vaca--not that I am jealous or anything ha!). I am so excited to share a little about both these ah-mazing ladies and direct you to their site to see the fun posts I have in store.

First up is Paige from Life's a Party Dress Like It. It has been so awesome becoming friends with her--she never fails to make me laugh on a regular basis. She is so sweet and has maybe the coolest life on the planet! She got to works at the Oscar's this year and she has an apartment in LA with a rooftop patio--talk about fabulous. Her style is always killer and she hosts an awesome link-up every week called Stylish Tuesday.

Here is a sneak peek at the outfit I am sharing on her blog today--so click HERE and get your tushy's over to Life's a Party and view my post--be sure to stalk the rest of Paige's blog!

Next up is Miss Rebecca from Made in the Shade. She was one of the first blogger babes I got to know and she has been a great resource and friend  while building my blog. She is one of the most encouraging people and always has something nice to say! She literally has the BEST DIY projects and her dog is too adorable for words. O and did I mention the girl has style for days AND can bake--her treats always make my mouth water.

Here is a sneak peek of my trip down printed pants lane over on her blog. So make sure you click HERE to check out my guest post on Made in the Shade and stick around to check out all of her awesome recipe, DIY, and style post.

Thanks again ladies for trusting me to take over your blogs (that can be risky ha!) I had such a fun time and I hope you both are having a fabulous vacation!

Fringe Benefit

{Kimono: Marshall's Splurge/Steal} {Leather Pants: Limited SALE} {Shirt: Limited Similar}
{Necklace: Limited} {Sunnies: F21} {Shoes: Sole Society LOVE}

The benefit of this fringe--is it looks ah-mazing no matter what. However, these photos didn't quite capture how truly awesome this kimono is. Is it by far my favorite--and I won't lie, I have like 4 ha!--the colors of it are gorgeous. I love that the fringe makes it feel a little rock and roll--I wore it with some leather pants for a fabulous girls night out a few weekends ago!

Also, can we talk about these sassy heels from Sole Society?! I had never order from them, but through the advice of some of my favorite bloggers--I took the plunge and got this awesome pair. If you haven't checked out their site--I highly recommend it!

I hope you all had a great weekend! I did ALOT of yoga--I am on a two week trial pass people, so I had to get as much free yoga in as possible. If you do yoga you feel me when I say that the classes are not so cheap, but I mastered my crow pose and now I am hooked!

Did I mention I am running the Pittsburgh Marathon next weekend (as a relay-duh!)--so I should actually be running, but that's a whole another can of worms. Just pray for me that I am not that girl who has to get carted off in a ambulance while only running 5 miles! No offense if that has happened to any of you :) I am guessing it hasn't because you all are probably a lot smarter than me --and would have trained for it!

OK, I am done rambling on a Monday--hopefully you all had your coffee before you decided so kindly to read this whole post :)

And don't forget--this is the last day to enter the J. Crew Giveaway!

Coated Denim--AND a GIVEAWAY

{Jeans: Limited Splurge} {Top: Old Navy} {Shoes: Kohls Similar}
{Scarf: F21 Similar}  {Sunnies: Identical}

I hope you all had a most fabulous Easter--mine was so wonderful--it was so hard to go back to work yesterday!

Before we get to the super exciting stuff--lets talk about this outfit. I am in love with coated denim. Like Truly, Madly, Deeply in LOVE! I got this pair from The Limited and although they have the look of leather--they are like 10 times more comfortable. And if you have ever worn leather...you know what I'm saying :)

But these are fabulous--and so easy to pair with a tee and a bright printed scarf-- of course the mirrored sunnies made another appearance. I wore this out Saturday night when the hubs and I went out for Mexican and Margaritas--which is my favorite kind of night!

But now on to the fun stuff--I have joined together with a fabulous group of bloggers for a $125 J. Crew Giftcard Giveaway!! How fun is that?! Can anyone say Shopping Spree?

Please enter below--you have week to get it done :) Good Luck Fashionistas!

Permission to be Imperfect

{Dress: Express On Sale} {Necklace: Express Similar} {Headband: Forever 21}
{Sunnies: F21} {Bracelets&Watch: Express/Limited}

It has been one of those weeks where my perfectionist side comes out--because you know I am perfect right?! Ha--OK I obviously am far from it, and in my logical brain, I know no one else expects me to be. But let's all be real with each other today--sometimes it is just plains hard. I feel like I need to LOVE my job, have a SPOTLESS home, eat HEALTHY, and take perfect outfit PHOTOS (among many other things, like having a great social life and make God the priority he should be).

So today I am giving myself a break from perfection--it is the unattainable goal. Why strive so hard for something we will never reach?! I am making myself a list of things I am giving myself permission to do.

  1. If I don't have time to do the laundry and fold it TODAY--it will still be there tomorrow. I should count it as a blessing that even if laundry doesn't get done, I will still have clothes to wear tomorrow!
  2. I am new to blogging--I need to give myself a break and know that I will get better over time and my photos will get better with time. This should be a blast (which it is!), and I don't want to put so much pressure on myself that I make it into a chore.
  3. Let go and let God--when it comes to my job and career. He knows where I am, where I am going, and where I need to be.
  4. I simply need to say no when it comes to some social outings--it will make me a better friend and wife when I am not always frazzled and exhausted from being on the run all the time.
  5. Take joy, not dread, into packing lunches and cooking healthy meals--it will make your body and mind feel good.
  6. Also, indulge and have sweets and treats and fast food every once in awhile--you'll live!
  7. Do exercise you enjoy--like yoga! Not everyone is a runner.
  8. Breathe and slow down to enjoy every moment of the life God blessed you with and the people you have the pleasure of spending it with.
What do you need to give yourself permission to do this week? Or maybe what do you need to let go of?

I would love to hear that I am not the only perfectionist out there that sometimes (a lot of times) falls short :)
Have a fabulous weekend

Dressed Up Tee

{Tee- Old Navy} {Jeans: Old Navy} {Booties: Body Central}
{Necklace: Gift Similar}{Bracelet: Groopdealz & Express}
{Sunnies: F21 Similar}

I am not going to lie--I am actually totally bummed out that it is Monday! I had such a fabulous weekend and I was not ready for it to end.

Friday, the hubs and I spend the night in Amish Country. We ate a fabulous dinner (totally did not go with the clean eating I am trying to do ha!), went swimming, and shopped around the next morning. O and got to hold lots of little puppies at this one store--I literally didn't want to leave! I may or may not have tried to talk the hubs into a English Bulldog puppy--but alas, that was a losing battle.

Saturday, we did a Bar Crawl, in a super small town close by for our friends birthday. That is where this dressed up tee comes into play. I was told these bars are not the kind you wear a dress to ha!--so I had to be a little creative. I LOVE this floral print tee from Old Navy--and when paired with the statement necklace and super fun booties--it all is perfect for a very chill night out!

Tees in the summer are so perfect and relaxed, and if you just add a few pieces to it or pair it with black pants--it can totally transition from day to night, from an ordinary tee to a dressed up one :)

PS. did anyone else notice my totally creepy phantom hand in the first photo?? Ha I did not until I was done editing :) Gotta love photography!

And Please head over to On The Daily Express--Gina and her blog are so fabulous and did a really fun interview with myself and two other bloggers. You need to get your tushy's over there and check it out!!

She Gets It From Her Momma

{Pants: Gap Summer Option} {Sweater: Gap} {Blouse: NY&Co.}
{Sunnies: F21} {Necklace: NY&Co. Splurge}

My mother and I have totally opposite taste in clothing. She is much more simple and sophisticated and I am more loud and trendy. However, this woman can shop for me better than I can sometimes shop for myself! She always knows exactly what I will like.

She got me this fabulous outfit from the Gap for Christmas and I LOVE it. She also said "Tori, now you need to wear this with a white blouse to break up all the red"--Genius! I would have never thought to do that, but it totally makes the whole look perfection :)

Thanks Mom!

I am headed out of town tonight on a short weekend getaway with the hubs. Super excited to get outta town and do some relaxing and unwinding in Amish Country--o and did I mention they have great shopping? Yay! I can't wait to tell you all about it on Monday.
Have a fabulous weekend

Patterned Pants-Weekend Edition

{Pants: Limited Super Cute} {Sweater: Limited Similar} {Wedges: NY&Co. Steal}
{Sunnies: F21 not online but still in store!} {Necklaces: old LOVE} {Bracelets: Groopdealz}

Patterned Pants have been all the rage this year. I seriously wear a different pair to work just about everyday (yes, I am fully aware I am in need of an intervention). But, because I wear them to work I usually avoid them on the weekend, they can tend to feel a little too stuffy and dressy! So with my look today I am showing you a patterned pants in a denim material. You still get all the fun of the cool print, but with a much more dressed down, comfy feeling. I paired it with a very light weight sweater and some simple necklaces to make for a go-to weekend look! PS. these are from last season, but LOFT has an ah-mazing pair (linked above) with a chevron print that I am dying over!

OK you guys, I was seriously trying to be more creative with my background in the pictures and I used my air conditioner--is that weird?! Ha! I kinda don't hate it--but def. want to get out more around town for some new, fun backgrounds. I promise you there is more to see in Ohio than just my backyard.

Do you guys have any tips for how to scout out locations for photos?
Do you guys use your tri-pod or try to take a friend/boyfriend/hubs?
I need some suggestions :)

  • I would be so love it if you would follow me on GFC (located in sidebar), Bloglovin', or Instagram!
Have a great Hump Day (Half-Way to the Weekend--not that I am counting ha!)

Nautical Knots

{Sweater: Old Navy on sale!} {Necklace: Express Cute} {Jeans: American Eagle}
{Headband: Wet Seal} {Boat Shoes: Rue 21}

Welp--I have said it before and I am sure I will say it again--but Old Navy you have truly done it again!

I have always loved a good nautical look--and it is totally trending this spring. Old Navy has tons of great nautical prints and colors--so don't just walk there--RUN! O and did I mention this great lightweight sweater is on sale? Score! I paired it with these awesome red boat shoes and added some fun with the flower headband.

I spent the whole day Saturday with some of my best girlfriends. We went and got our nails done, shopped, drank margaritas, and saw American Hustle--again :) I mean JLaw is a little cray in that movie and I still LOVE her. That girl can do no wrong in my book.

Sunday was full of lounging and laundry. I did get a run in, which is good considering I am doing the Pittsburgh Marathon (as a relay--lets be real) here in just less than a month. I should really stop putting off training I guess :)
