Mixing Patterns--Work Edition

{Skirt: Limited Similar} {Shirt: Marshall's LOVE} {Shoes: NY&Co. Splurge}
{Necklaces: Limited and Express} {Bracelets: Groopdealz}

I will say that for working in a bank, I am pretty lucky when it comes to dress code. Yes, it is still business causal (aka say goodbye to your jeans), but they are not too conservative and I get to wear lots of fun prints and open toed shoes! I thought this outfit was super fun because it is a conservative pencil skirt, but put with a funky patterned top--you get a really cool, trendy (work appropriate) outfit. Pattern mixing is such a great trend this season. For work, I find it best if you at least pick a similar color to go through out the outfit--in this case it was navy. That way your aren't screaming--I got dressed in the dark--and instead saying "I am one powerful banking fashionista"!

P.S. Thank you so much all! You guys had such much great input on the great phone debate--IPhone vs. Droid. But this indecisive lady still hasn't decided ha! Hopefully this week :)

  1. Ooh - I wouldn't have thought to pair these prints together, but they ended up being perfect! And it looks great on you. That's so great that you can still have fun with the dress code at work.

  2. Can I have that skirt? Okay, great :) Seriously, it is so pretty! The print is awesome and it seems like it would be really easily mixed! I have a similar dress code at work and I am so thankful for it!

  11. You look so cute!! I can relate to your dress code at work, but we are allowed to wear jeans! During the summer I pretty much wear dresses or skirts every day. I love that I don't have to shy away from color or pattern!

  21. This outfit looks great and it is so perfect for work! I have to be more daring when it comes to mixing patterns. Mixing polka dots and checks are the most daring I have gone. Thanks for inspiring me to step out of the box! You look fab girl!
